Civil War 150 Pinhole Project:
The American Civil War has been described as our country’s truly epic struggle, America’s Iliad. 150 years on, the echoes of this time can still be felt and seen on its battlefields. Our deep, familial connection to these landscapes are also echoed the country's reenactment community. The past is present.
Join photographer Michael Falco as he chronicles and visualizes the Civil War from the 19th century soldiers' point of view and highlights the haunting beauty of the war's battlefields with the poetry of the pinhole camera.

I’m the fellow seated, bottom right, with yellow stripes on my coat. It took us six months to build those two boats, we finished the first boat a week before the event and the second boat the day before the event. We started with 20 – 30 people building and by the time we were done had about four regulars furiously working to finish. I would never do it again but I’m glad I was involved, it taught me so much about pontoons, how they were built and how they worked. We donated one boat to Ferry Farm (they provided funds for materials) the other is sitting in my barn !
